The Client

Isuzu Commercial Truck of America, Inc., the distributor of America’s best-selling, low cab forward trucks, opened a training and parts distribution center in this 134,442-square-foot flex building built by Mericle and customized to Isuzu’s exact needs in CenterPoint Commerce & Trade Park East, in Jenkins Township.

The project marked the first time Isuzu combined a training center, named “Isuzu Truck University”, and a modern parts distribution center under one roof.

About 97,000 square feet is used for parts distribution and the balance is used for technical training and office space. The building features 30’ to 34’4 ½” ceiling clear heights, 19 loading doors, two drive-in doors, energy-efficient fluorescent T-bay lighting, 800 amps of power, and ESFR fire protection.

This CenterPoint facility complements Isuzu’s training center in Garden Grove, California. Isuzu Truck University serves Isuzu dealerships in the eastern United States. Certified Isuzu technicians come to the facility for advanced training on internal mechanical components and operations of diesel and gas engines.
