Mericle Commercial Real Estate Services, a developer of industrial and office space, and its community marketing arm, DiscoverNEPA, were recognized as the 2022 Outstanding Business of the Year by the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce. The Outstanding Business of the Year Award recognizes the history of a successful business, its leadership, and its community involvement.
The award was presented to Mary Kolessar, Executive Director of DiscoverNEPA, during the Greater Pittston Chamber’s Annual Dinner held on Thursday, August 25 at Fox Hill Country Club in Exeter, PA.
“Mericle’s 350 team members embrace the company’s motto of Building Buildings, Building Careers, and Building Communities” said Michelle Mikitish, Executive Director of the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce, while presenting the award.
Kolessar told the story behind the creation of DiscoverNEPA as she accepted the award. “Mericle is, today and always, Northeastern Pennsylvania proud. And that pride is precisely how DiscoverNEPA was born. A little over four years ago, Rob Mericle had a vision to harness the marketability of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s 10 amazing counties. Our team’s goal of presenting our hundreds of great communities, and our thousands of amenities, as one unified region, had never been accomplished before. But we knew that NEPA had a story to tell and that it was one the world needed to hear.”
Since 1985, Mericle has developed more than 100 buildings that today house 205 companies and 20,000 employees. Founded in 2018, DiscoverNEPA markets the quality of life amenities in 10 local counties and already has more than 175,000 followers on social media.
