(November 20, 2007) C3i Inc., a leading customer service company specializing in the life sciences industry, is moving part of its operations from Morristown, NJ, to a 25,000 SF office in Mericle’s Headquarters in the Corporate Center at the East Mountain in Plains. The move will create 229 jobs when C3i, a provider of customer relationship management services to pharmaceutical companies, relocates its domestic call center operations. “C3i looked all over the country, but selected the Northeast Pennsylvania area because of the quality of labor and overall business climate,” said Joel Morse, CEO and C3i co-founder. The company, which is also purchasing new equipment and making leasehold improvements, expects to begin operations this month and be fully operational by April. Lew Sebia, Mericle’s Chief Operating Officer, welcomed C3i on behalf of all Mericle employees, and commented that “C3i will play a key role in helping the Greater Wilkes-Barre area retain its best and brightest talent.” Sebia also thanked Governor Ed Rendell and his team at the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for assembling the incentive financing package that is so critical to this project. He commended the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business and Industry, who C3i worked with to secure a $1.5 million funding offer from the Department of Community and Economic Development for the nearly $4 million project.
Others acknowledged for their hard work on the C3i project include the Luzerne County Board of Commissioners, the Wilkes-Barre Area School Board, and the Plains Township Board of Commissioners, who gave LERTA status to the Mericle headquarter building, and brokers Alex Jinishian & Kurt Reisinger from GVA Williams, New York City, and John Susanin from GVA Smith Mack, Philadelphia, without whom this deal would not have been possible. |
